Zine Template — Part II
Two things that I would like to changes from the full spread template: clean-up anything hanging off the page and add a fold line.
First, modify the cropmarks so they are not hanging off the page. The left and right cropmarks are hangin off the page by a quarter of an inch. To do this, I use the Direct Select Tool and the Transform palette. Select the left cropmarks with the Direct Select Tool, eopen the Transform palette, set a right-side anchor point and change the width to 0.25. Do the same on the right cropmarks, except change to a left-side anchor point before adjusting the size. Everything should now be within the page.
Second, it will be handy to have an indicator of where the fold will be. Create a new layer named Fold Line below the Cropmarks layer. Use the Line Segment Tool to create a 5.5-inch line at 90-degrees. Select your fold line and live are box, set the live box as the key object and align to center for both axes. For clarity, I suggest setting a color, making the line dashed and adding a label.
