		<description>Oh my god - as you mentioned, you are about the only one who has any idea how long I&#039;ve been searching for a solution to this!

Before finding this, I &quot;gave up&quot; and used old 8.3 filenames (had my USB formatted with FAT32) to get around this.  I just got a new one and figured I would use exFAT in Vista - but it (finally) abolished 8.3 filenames and only supports long filenames... so I had to find a real solution!

I&#039;m so glad I found your post here - put the entries in double quotes (odd that it&#039;s not required for the open command, just shellexecute and shell\verb\command) and presto, finally working as it should!

PS: for those not sure why you want this - it allows you to omit the drive letter (single quotes work with drive letter btw - figure that out!) so that your path is relative to the USB device... regardless of the drive letter it gets.
