Let the Redesign Begin

Since the Wercshop is already “intentionally unrefined”, it will be the first victim of redesign. This redesign will be more than adding a pretty face to a website; it will be the journey of discovering a design and development process. The hope is to create some form of doumentation that will aid in the construction of future websites.

At this point, the rough plan is:

• Content Analysis: Determine what piece of content need to be accounted for; and there role in the website.
• Ideastorming: The process of developing a concept or design style that will lead the project.
• Paper Comps: Ink and paper sketches to remove the bad ideas before hitting the keyboard.
• Digital Comps: Further refinement of layouts and ideas — nearing final quality.
• Detailed Comp: The final composite and layout with all page templates accounted for.
• Construction and Testing: All things from static image to live website; build and repair as we go.
