Frequency
It is interesting to note what applications you open the most in an average day. Note that the applications you open most frequently may not line up with what applications you use the most. For example, I use Outlook more than anything in a single day; typically, it start the application in the morning and run it all day; versus Dreamweaver that I typically will shutdown in between project changes. Below is my top 10 opened applications:
- Dreamweaver
- CuteFTP Professional
- Photoshop
- Google Talk
- Acrobat
- Notepad
- Excel
- Flash
- Putty
- Illustrator
To enhance productivity, I have used this little experiment to help determine where I should place my application shortcuts and what application to include. Oddly, Outlook is one of my most accessible shortcuts, but I only need it once or twice a day; maybe it should be replaced by Dreamweaver.
